As part of consolidating the results of the first European Union-funded projects implemented by CEREEAC, notably the Small Hydropower Roadmap, the development of Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS), and the SEKH Knowledge Platform, a technical mission was carried out in Equatorial Guinea from 8 to 12 June. The mission aimed to ensure continuity, strengthen achievements, and build on the progress already made.

On this occasion, Dr. Georgette FUMTCHUM TAMKO, Sustainable Energy Expert at CEREEAC, had the honour of being received by His Excellency Mr. Gervasio ENGONGA MBA, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, as well as His Excellency Dr. José Juan NDONG TOM MEKINA, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Environment.

The mission also provided an opportunity to hold constructive working sessions with Mr. Francisco Asumu ONDO MIKU, Director of Renewable Energy and Chairman of the CEREEAC Administrative Council, and Mr. Juan Francisco MICO NVONO, CEREEAC National Focal Point, whose valuable support greatly contributed to the success of the mission.

Fruitful discussions were also held with Mr. Antonio MICHA ONDO ANGUE, National Focal Point of the Global Environment Facility (GEF), as well as with the AGENOR team, particularly Ms. Mireya TOLEDO and Mr. Alejandro OLO MBUMA.

The commitment demonstrated by the national authorities met during the mission reflects Equatorial Guinea’s strong determination to support the development of regional renewable energy projects while fostering the implementation of transformative national initiatives in this strategic sector.
