From 3 to 5 June 2026, at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, ECCAS, represented by Mr. Jean Koutele, and its specialized energy institutions, namely PEAC, represented by Mr. Rigobert Gbazi and Mr. Marc Effaga Edzegue; CEREEAC, represented by Dr. Georgette Fumtchum Tamko; and CORREAC, represented by Mr. Samuel Nyobe, took part in the Technical Consultation and Validation Workshop of the CEPA (Continental Energy Programme in Africa), a continental energy programme led by the African Union with support from, notably, the European Union.

The meeting aimed to:

• consolidate and validate the main deliverables of the CEPA programme, particularly those related to the African Single Electricity Market (AfSEM) and the Continental Master Plan (CMP);
• strengthen coordination among African institutions on energy planning, market integration and energy transition;
• define orientations and priorities for future implementation, in line with continental objectives.

Through the joint participation of its specialized institutions, ECCAS actively contributed to bringing the priorities of Central Africa to these strategic discussions, particularly on regional integration, harmonization of regulatory frameworks, and the development of a sustainable and inclusive African energy market.
